  • Advise, train, assist, develop AAF rotary, non-standard aviation enterprise of 35 Mi-17s, 3 Mi-35s and 10 MD-530s
  • Non-Standard Rotary Wing team member for MI-35 inspection. Assessed 6 aircraft for multiple instances of battle damage and delayed repairs. Convinced AAF commanders none were salvageable, redirected focus/manpower to more capable MD530 program.
  • Mentor Intermediate level Maintenance Squadron leadership and lead technicians on, NDI, airframes, hydraulics, avionics, drive systems, and isochronal phase inspections.
  • Advise flight line maintenance squadron leadership and technicians on ground handling, weapons safety, quality assurance, troubleshooting.
  • Evaluated AAF sheet metal repair on battle damaged aircraft. Combined previous ABDR experiences/C130 metal technology technicians to monitor repair procedures and techniques. Stressed importance of proper rivet spacing/sealing/existing structure utilization. AAF completed 33 repair and returned 5 damaged aircraft back to Mission Capable while taking less time and Ø consuming less supplies with the newly trained techniques.
  • Intervened during weapons safety mishap. Co-authored MI-17 23mm gun/S5 rocket safety checklist. Utilized AAF weapons commander input during process. Submitted appropriate paperwork to Afghan MOD for official approval. Enabled AAFs first ever official weapons safety Operating Instructions to be created.
  • Countered Russian weapons trade embargo. Worked with weapons engineers during reverse engineering/creation of MI17 bore sight system for the 23 mm gun/57mm rocket/80mm rockets. Supported 4 different fit tests and provided input during design of 5 separate special tools. Cut boresight time in half.
  • Advised AAF Field Grade Officers 1 Colonel, 1 Lt Colonel, and 5 Majors on how to command a squadron. Instilled full range leadership development principles in AAF commanders, highlighted importance of taking care of their people, all while remembering to focus on the importance of training and safety practices.
