Adept at problem-solving and creative thinking, I leveraged my patience and empathy as a Tutor and Caregiver, enhancing collaboration and teamwork. My experience includes tutoring children with special needs and providing comprehensive care for my grandmother, showcasing my ability to lead with compassion and quickly adapt to challenging situations. Being Captain of the 2021 D2 State Champions in Basketball taught me how to lead my teammates and how to listen well to my coaches. It also taught me how to work hard physically and how to push myself to the limit mentally and physically.
I had the chance for a short stent to tutor children with special needs and help them with their school work. I tutored children with Autism, Down Syndrome, and Severe Anxiety Disorders. This taught me to be very patient, kind and understanding. It also taught me to be able to stay calm in very heated circumstances.
This was not an official job but for over a Year I took full time care of my Grandmother in a caregiving setting. My Grandmother unfortunately struggled with dementia and mobility issues which lead to me needing to care for her accordingly. The Job consisted of picking her up out of bed, running her to the doctors or hospital whenever needed, dementia care and even at times pushing her around the house in a wheelchair. This taught me to be grateful for everything I have and due to the physical nature of the position kept me physically in good shape. My patience increased even more because of her memory issues... I learned to be understanding when she would forgot or get hostile with me.
