Work History

Forest Monitoring Technician (CFRI)

05.2024 - 08.2024
  • Installed forestry plots for various monitoring purposes in the front range and subalpine regions of Colorado
  • Four-day trips were spent in Woodland Park, Colorado to assist the USFS in Common Stand Exam collections for canopy, down woody material, fuels, surface cover, and understory vegetation data
  • The majority of the summer was spent doing four-day trips in Gould, Colorado, where I worked on the ASCC project (Adpative Silvaculture for Climate Change)
  • Stem mapping, understory vegetation, surface cover, and fuel data were collected throughout this protocol
  • An eight-day trip was taken down to Hotchkiss, CO, where I assisted my crew leader (Vausha Snyder) do research for the SBEADMR project (Spruce Beetle Epidemic and Aspen Decline Management Response)
  • The protocol for this project examined tree health, snowshoe hare presence, and spruce beetle presence throughout various plots on Bald Mountain.

TILT Tutor at Colorado State University

  • Assisting students that need further instruction: Calculus for Biological Scientists (Calculus I/MATH155)
  • Main goal is to prioritize the students that are falling further behind and provide resources for them to be successful in the course.

Assistant Team Leader, Boulder County Youth Conservation Corps

  • Co-leading a team of 7 high schoolers, alongside two Boulder County Open Space and Mountain Parks employees
  • The Boulder 1 crew (our crew) contributed to the initial process of a 10 year restoration plan that extends further than 0.3 miles from the trailhead of the Gregory Canyon trail (at the bottom of Flagstaff mountain)
  • After completing an 8 week water check and trail cover operation, our crew then moved to the Anemone trail where we were tasked with similar duties
  • Leader duties stretched beyond physical work as delegating tasks and facilitating the safety of our corps members were our main priority
  • (Commuted daily from Fort Collins to Boulder).

  • Provide customer service for daily boat/jet ski rentals and operations
  • Worked in best attempt throughout operation to mitigate pollution on the shores around the lagoon and monitor gas refill procedures
  • Also conducted weekly summer camps for kids ages 9 - 15 to enjoy the outdoors.

  • Student Sustainability Club at Colorado State University, 01/2024 - present, Bi-weekly club organization that collaborates to accomplish sustainability practices and goals in the Fort Collins community. (Currently working on a native plant initiative to accommodate indigenous idealogy and support the ecosystems that are more integrated with suburban areas).
  • Special Olympics Football (Colorado State University), 10/2021, Went out and spent time with Special Olympics Colorado playing flag football and helping them have a friendly competition. I did this with five others representing the Zeta Phi chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at the event.
  • Assistant Coach, Friday Night Lights Flag Football (Carlsbad, California), 03/2019 - 03/2020, 6, Coached a youth flag football team from grade levels 3-4 to expand their knowledge of the game/ encourage sportsmanship.
