Accomplishments

Developed a High School Video Production Course at Garfield High School from scratch on a minimal allocated budget. Students have won awards annually, most notably with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Northwest Chapter Student Production Awards with two student garnering National nominations in the Student Category. Several Students have gone on to be accepted to notable College and University Film Schools and Programs.

He has been honored with numerous awards for outstanding journalism in television broadcasting and journalism, including Central Great Lakes Chapter Regional Emmy Nominations, as well as Awards and Honors from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Radio and Television News Directors Association, and the Associated Press.

  • Jacques is retired from the US Army, and also served in the US Navy, where during his last assignment, he co-anchored the Navy’s flagship televised News and Information show – Navy News This Week - receiving a Department of Defense Thomas Jefferson Award for Broadcast Journalism Excellence for a documentary series produced on Navy Seals. He was also named Navy Broadcaster of the Year.
  • Jacques has significant Professional Broadcast experience working as an Anchor/Reporter in several television markets including Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and Little Rock, during his time as an Army Reservist and as a National Guardsman.
  • During a Peacekeeping deployment to Bosnia while serving in the Army, Jacques directed and produced a documentary on the Bosnian massacre of Srebrenica that was screened at the Annual Convention of the American Legion and on the Indianapolis Public Broadcasting station.
  • Jacques is a vibrant patron of the Seattle area arts community and has written and performed a play addressing the scourge of military sexual trauma.
