
Jaelyn Childs is a Bachelor of Social Work candidate at Coppin State University with a minor in Psychology, committed to providing equitable mental health services to underserved communities. She has experience in school-based settings, delivering trauma-informed care, social-emotional learning, and crisis intervention to support student well-being.
Jaelyn has strengthened her skills in case management, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration through her roles as a School-Based Mental Health Fellow and CARESS Peer Educator. As a Maxie Collier Scholar, she has developed a strong understanding of substance use, health disparities, and harm reduction.
Grounded in social work ethics, cultural competence, and client-centered practice, Jaelyn plans to pursue a Master of Social Work and become a licensed clinical social worker, serving vulnerable populations.
