• Basic husbandry, cleaning, feeding, walking, and bathing of pets.
• Assisting the DVM in exam rooms.
• Assisting with nail trims, lab work, discussing estimates, and client care.

Worked on the patient care team/veterinary side of the shelter. Daily tasks would primarily consist of:

• Medicating patients throughout the shelter, as needed.
• Daily reviews and exams of shelter animals.
• Working closely with patients who are infectious with URI, ringworm, panleukemia, parvo, and giardia, as well as taking the right precautions prior to handling patients who are contagious, such as proper PPE practices.
• Lab work, usage of IDEXX machines, snap tests, calculating dosages of medications, and filling pharmacy medications.

• Monitoring of hospitalized patients overnight.
• Administering medications and subcutaneous fluids.
• Sterilizing surgical instruments, prepping surgical packs, and using an autoclave.
• Ensuring the hospital is prepped for the following shift, restocking overnight.
