I have a rural farm upbringing that led me to have compassion and interest in providing care to animals. I began rescuing orphaned and injured animals nurturing them back to health. This made me a compassionate caretaker.

I took Ag classes as well as intro to veterinary medicine in high school. For one of my high school courses, I was required to job shadowed. I choose to observe the veterinarians at Lake View Veterinary Service. At the end of my shadowing experience, I was asked to join their team. I quickly advanced, becoming one of their veterinary technicians. I became a valuable trusted team member. I soon was given the responsibility and independence to provide after-hour care and treatments to hospitalized animals. I reported prudent information to the Veterinarians taking new orders and provided care as directed. I was given the responsibility to provide 24-hour monitoring and treatment to an 11-week-old puppy with head trauma. I was told that the care I provided significantly improved the pup’s outcome.

I have gained knowledge and experience while working at Lake View Veterinary service. I have learned to assit with procedures, administer vaccinations, medicate, draw blood, start IVs, and monitor animals under anesthesia. I help maintain a clean work environment helping reduce spread of disease and infection. I have been acknowledged for taking initiative and providing assistance without direction along with the ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations. As a team member I prioritize the health and safety of animals.
