In addition to my long career as an LPN serving Veterans, I graduated at the top of my class from North Dakota State College of Science for my LPN degree. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, Student Practical Nurse (SPN) club, and was student class representative for my 3rd and 4th semester. I received the Ruth Sargent Hodgson scholarship as well as the Phyllis Hagen Kotnour scholarship and did various volunteer activities during my college career. I was awarded ‘Student Nurse of the Year' at my pinning ceremony. I am now pursuing my BSN degree with a minor in psychology through North Dakota State University. I have worked in a Family Medicine clinic for over a year now so also have clinic experience. I am one of two nurses at the clinic and work under two providers. We treat a variety of patients each day. I completed all of the required psychiatric (DISCUS) assessments for many years for the Basic Care Unit while at the North Dakota Veterans Home so I also have experience with mental health.
