My name is Jannah Houwari. I am 18 years old and currently a freshman at California Lutheran University, where I am pursuing a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing, along with a minor in psychology. As a student, I am highly motivated to build a strong academic foundation while also gaining experience that will support my future career goals in marketing and business development.
In addition to my studies, I am a proud member of the CLU Women’s Tennis Team. Being part of a collegiate team has taught me how to perform under pressure while staying focused on long-term goals.
I am passionate about understanding consumer behaviour, branding, and communication, which is why my psychology minor complements my marketing focus. I am eager to continue growing both academically and personally, seeking opportunities such as internships, networking, and experiences that will help me succeed!

As soon as I moved to Hawaii back in 2019 I had my pole in the water. Fishing has been my passion for over seven years now and I spent much of my free time in those years learning about the many Hawaiian fish and fishing in general. When I got my first job as a cook in 2022 I garnered skills in hospitality and sanitation while also learning to work under pressure. I maintained a clean and tidy working environment at all times as well. While my time as a cook was informative it has always been my dream to work on a fishing charter where I could put my years of knowledge and experience to use. Even in the brief time I’ve had to train on the Sashimi II i’ve seen that this is a great place to work. The crew and captain were phenomenal and I felt right at home. If you’ll have me I’d love to work on your vessel for as long as you’d let me.

I am a driven, capable individual with a desire to be successful in any role I find myself in. I was raised on a Dartmoor Farm and thrive on challenges. I have been in the yachting industry for 8 years and have achieved a huge amount in that time. I love my job and this is a long term career for me with the ultimate goal of becoming a Captain of a well run vessel in the future.
I have been fortunate to have received work on several iconic yachts of varying sizes giving me a broad ships knowledge. I have been an HOD for just under a year and pride myself on creating an excellent team that is strongly motivated and has a great safety culture. I wish to bring my skills and personality to a new challenge that will allow me to grow, teach and enjoy my work.
I am presentable and confident with a good sense of humour, whilst being dedicated and respectful.
