James Mwinga

My name is James Mwinga, I am a first generation American. My passion is to serve others and to make a difference in my country and the world around me. I volunteer my time at my church and community, specifically, with wreaths across America to remember those who served our country during the holidays. I hope to make a difference and serve my country as an airman, and as a pilot. I believe I have the work ethic and drive to be successful in flight school. Given the opportunity, I will serve my country with pride and gratitude.

• Certificate of Excellence 2022 and 2023 – Dayton Ohio National JROTC Drill Championships
• Outstanding Leadership Award 2021-2022- The Enlisted Association Award of Merit.
• US Air Force Jr. ROTC Certificate of Completion – for being one of two cadets to complete 4 years of AF JROTC out of over 40 students who signed up in 2019.
• Armed Squad Commander, Color Guard competition Commander.
• Presentation of The Colors at various State, City, sports events.

• Played Baseball and Soccer for Homewood SC and Alabama FC. During high school
• Completed Microsoft Certification and IT classes at Lawson Community College.
• A passion for the Air Force JROTC Leadership Academy at Hoover High School, starting in freshman year in 2019 until graduation in May 2023.
• A member of the Hoover High School JROTC drill team for four years, holding leadership roles and competing in drill meets across the state, qualifying for the National championships 3 times.
