Review all data entry for accuracy and proper allocation to individual job cost categories. Set up all new individual job cost categories. Perform all monthly bank account reconciliations. I routinely maintained all accounts including: receivables, fixed assets, accrued and other assets, accounts payable, accrued payables, notes payable (both short and long-term portions). For many years I prepared routine payroll tax returns, sales & use tax returns and the annual Federal and State income tax returns for review by the outside accounting firms and in the last two years I coordinated with a very highly specialized outside accounting firm to make sure that we took advantage of every legitimate tax break and the new employee retention credits. In 2004 owner who was a sole proprietor at the time underwent a Fed income tax audit that I oversaw for him and the IRS auditors found no problems whatsoever with the accounting system that I had set up for him when I first came to work for him. The only thing that they did find was a gambling winning in August of the previous year where the casino hands the winner the 1099 along with the cash. Somehow the 1099 got lost before the return preparation in February and March of the following year. In 2009 some outside attorneys set up a master LLC and 36 sub-LLC's to protect the owner's assets. I had recommended that he set up at least one LLC or an S-Corp when I had first come to work for him in 1997, but he did not want to do it at that time. Since 2009 I had set up and merged into the accounting system and income tax returns about a dozen more LLC's. I have found that I really need to return to work as a salaried Accountant for another new company.
All aspects of Accounting included: preparation for and coordination with outside Accounting Firms for Audited, Reviewed or Compiled Financial Statements, internal payroll tax, sales & use tax, also if necessary for and in coordination with outside Accounting Firms Federal & State income tax returns
I earned my CPA Certificate in or around 1981 and I held a state license for over 30 years. I let the license lapse due to work/personal time constraints vs. time needed to meet the CPE and CPE costs.
