My hands on personal experience strongly qualifies me for this position at the Catskills Center for Independence. My son, who is now 11 years old, was diagnosed with nonverbal Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of two. Since then, I have navigated through Early Intervention services, opwdd, school systems, therapists, and educators. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of advocacy, coordination of services, and the challenges families face when accessing supports. I believe this lived experience allows me to bring compassion, patience and practical knowledge to this role. I am motivated by the skills I gain will not only benefit the individuals I serve, but also support my son's future independence.
