I am a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with twenty years of experience in Hospice and the Emergency Department combined. I started with Hospice as a Liaison in 2013 at Emanate Health and one year later I moved to our ten bed Inpatient Unit where I remained until the facility closed in 2023. Our main focus was caring for GIP patients during their end of life but I also cared for Respite and Transitioning-to-Home patients. Some patients came to our unit for GIP care and our team was able to assist them in improving their condition, therefore, sending them home on a Routine Level of Care with Hospice to provide the best quality of life possible. Throughout my career in hospice, I have received the Daisy Award on ten different occasions. I also received the Nurse of the Year Award two years in a row for "Most Compassionate Nurse" at our facility. Working in Hospice has impacted my life as much as I have impacted the lives of those I have cared for, both patients and their families.
