Lead, over site and development of daily non routine aircraft maintenance items for approximately 700 aircraft while assuming both manager and customer service roles for the Deferral Management group within United Airlines Network Operations Center (NOC). Over site of approximately 50 management staff employees who coordinate technical information,materials needed and operational plans for the United Airlines aircraft planning division. 24/7 shift coverage experience in aircraft planning. Work with other departments and stations within United Airlines Technical Operations Division to assure a balanced and manageable daily plan is executed.

The SAMC Manager controls and coordinates all activities of SAMC with respect to aircraft maintenance operations, conflicts of work planning and assigning for line and non-maintenance locations and oversees parts expediting. The SAMC Manager provides a central real-time contact and decision point concerning go / no go maintenance decisions and the establishment of maintenance workload assignments and requirements.

SAMC Manager directs activities to expedite return to service of aircraft in compliance with accepted maintenance practices and comply with emergency procedures. The Manager provides coordination with Maintenance Management, Flight Operations, OPB , Engineering / Technical Services, vendor and regulatory agencies, FAA, NTSB and is a communication focal point for these resources.

SAMC Manager coordinates maintenance activities and resources to maximize aircraft's return to service.

Worked as a fleet coordinator in maintenance control to support both the 737 and 757 fleets. Duties included support and revisions of the fleet desk manuals, reliability reporting for the fleet, project assistance with engineering, FAA interface on fleet issues, interfacing with parts and inventory planning on spares issues, reviewed daily delays and cancellations on the fleet with engineering and supported the SAMC Shift Manager desk on an as needed basis.

The SAMC Controller's primary responsibility is to support the line operation to assure dispatch of airworthy, legal and safe aircraft, particularly when a technical situation exists not covered by routine procedures. This requires proper interpretation of written material and interaction with other technical resources to ensure the best decision is made. They have authority and responsibility for making final decisions concerning the course of action required for the safe and airworthy operation of our aircraft. The controller is required to assist aircraft in flight with mechanical defects when requested by the flight crew.

The controller is responsible to contribute to the development and communication of the recovery plan for aircraft at the stations while ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained consistent with corporate values and objectives. They interact and assist with SAMC Planners, engine maintenance controllers, tech support and line maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and research of aircraft maintenance problems. They also promote a positive work environment that supports a team effort and encourages safety with open communication.
