Jana Kenney

Registered nurse with strong experience in many different nurse settings who has delivered strong quality care to students and patients for many years. Master-level nurse as of April 2022 with more than twenty-four years of previous experience. Those areas include Pediatrics, ER, Ortho, PACU, pain clinic, endoscopy, and school nursing. I have a wide knowledge of standards of care in the hospital and public health setting. I consider myself a very caring, loyal, and reliable person with a perception that I can build positive relationships with staff and the medical community. I am very committed to making my patients, students, and staff more informed and relaxed during their students being at school or in the hospital under my care. I am a very focused and loving nurse that finds tremendous value in what I do daily.

• Strong patient and student advocate. Working in a school, clinic, and hospital setting over my career has made me a very well-rounded nurse with multiple skills to advocate for what is needed.
• Strong oral communication skills, due to all of my jobs have required me to talk with physicians, other nurses, the care management team and now parents and teachers daily.
• Very good at multitasking and being organized. Taking care of 400 students and 100 staff makes it impossible to not be organized and know what is happening all around my building daily.
• Respected team player who has had to be autonomous and work in group settings during my career. I have worked in a variety of work environments that put me as the only medical expert in my school building. I have also worked on the Pediatrics floor with only 1 other nurse making life-saving decisions.
• I work in a very low-demographic school that is considered a Title 1 school. My kids don't come from a lot and I consider myself to be a very fair and non-judgmental nurse.

I am the mother to 4 amazing kids who are all very busy.  I go to their sports activities, we love to play games, go to the movies, go camping, and have attended all the KSU games for over 18 years.  I love working out and hanging out with friends when time allows.
