• Fill and prepare medication for Pyxis MedStations ™

(Automated Medication Dispensing System) throughout the OR and Emergency Department including Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, Surgical ICU, and Neonatal ICU.

• Troubleshoot Pyxis ™ including recovering failed drawers/doors, resolving medication discrepancies, and clearing medication return bins.

• Prepare intravenous admixtures in accordance with USP 797 guidelines.

• Safely compound and batch IV admixture and solutions including epidurals and Avastin.
• Change and replenish Crash Cart trays throughout hospital after patient codes.
• Clean, restock, and check for outdated Crash Cart trays throughout hospital including Labor/Delivery, OR, and patient care units.
• Clean and replenish OR Pharmacy trays for Anesthesiology during surgery.
• Clean and replenish OR Emergency trays and stock emergency carts throughout OR including "Trauma Cart" and "Heart Cart"
• Triage and direct incoming medication inquiries to pharmacist and fulfill inpatient medication orders accordingly.
• Distribute medication throughout hospital via TubeStation in timely and orderly fashion; ensuring STAT medications top priority.
• Hand deliver TPN's, "sensitive", and controlled medication to nurse stations in timely and order fashion while maintaining positive, friendly demeanor.
• Well-versed in all shifts within Inpatient Pharmacy including "Graveyard" shift.

• Fill medication via Parata Max ™ and Parata Mini ™

(Pharmacy Automation Solutions)

• Operate, maintain, and stock Parata Max ™ and Parata Mini™ including vial/cap par levels, replenishing patient labels, and cleaning/troubleshooting robot.
• Manage and replenish inventory for Parata Max ™ and Parata Mini ™ including rotating pharmacy shelves with current inventory, locating and removing expired medication, and cleaning and organizing area to ensure quality of robot.
• Data enter new prescriptions via McKesson Enterprise Rx ™ quickly and accurately.
• Process and adjudicate insurance claims including initiating prior authorizations and billing after release
• Pack and ship patient medication via Digital Shipper™ in a detailed manner ensuring correct patient address, name, and medication orders.
• Track lost/damaged inventory and offer customer service solutions including facilitating pick-up options at nearby Cook County Health Systems locations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Received, processed, sorted, and distributed bulk pharmacy inventory for all departments within hospital including Narcotics, OR, Inpatient, Outpatient, Chemo, MailOrder, and Storeroom Pharmacies from all vendors including Amerisource, FedEx, UPS, and dropships.
• Properly received, sorted, and delivered Chemotherapeutic medication orders with proper Chemo Cart and Chemo protocol to Chemo Pharmacy.
• Accurately received and distributed Narcotic medication throughout hospital including Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, OR, Labor/Delivery, and Surgical ICU.
• Resolved and troubleshot Narcotic discrepancies throughout patient care units with nurses and medical staff in a professional and polite manner.
• Prepared and filled medication orders for surrounding Cook County Health Systems clinics including Jorge Prieto, CORE, Austin, and Robbins Clinics for pickup.
• Cleaned, filled, and stocked Crash Cart trays and transport boxes for all areas of Inpatient Pharmacy including Neonatal, Pediatric, and ICU's.
• Re-packaged stock medication using pharmacy automated packaging system ensuring documentation of medication name, strength, lot number, quantity and name of the manufacturer and/or distributor of the drug repacked.
• Checked and documented temperatures of all refrigerators and freezers within Acquisitions Storeroom ensuring proper storage of all refrigerated and/or frozen medication and/or supplies.
• Inspected, rotated, and outdated medication throughout hospital including patient care units and ED ensuring all medication is properly stored, labeled, and accounted for especially narcotics and insulin.
