Summary

I am good at advocating as a career and it's very appealing for me personally, as I am a very head strong person with very firm morals, values, and a very strong moral compass. I am open minded, I'm very open to new opinions, and ideals, as well as I'm willing to hear someone out on why they feel the way they do on a specific issue. I value the saying give space, make space to make sure I'm not over shadowing someone else's experience, history, opinions, and voice. I enjoy encouraging people to use there voice, giving them room to do so but always ready to support and cheer them on as needed. I enjoy giving a voice to those who haven't found there own. Helping people find there voice is something that is deeply valued with in me due to my own history and past experiences. I rather have a tense disagreement with a loved one then them just nod and agree with me cause then I know they are speaking there truth and refusing to back down from it. And for me that's worth more to me then them being "agreeable". I'm a loud advocate for what I believe in but I do not yell, raise my voice, or come to a disagreement without proof, and facts to back me up.

As a Pit member I worked to gather data on youth mental health to build a crisis response model for youth by youth. The team I worked with went to high schools, and colleges for data collection. And as well as hosting in person gatherings to present our new findings and once we were done we presented our findings and data to a adult team. Showing them what was needed in our community, how we got this information, and how the lack of resources that youth are comfortable with and needed was effecting them.
