Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, Imperial Beach, CA

  • Restored Coastal Sage Scrub and Salt Marsh habitat using tools to prune vegetation that provides habitat for the Ridgway's Rail, Coastal California Gnatcatcher, and the endangered Salt Marsh Bird's Beak.
  • Performed routine maintenance and stewardship of the trails, propagating local native plant stock in the native plant nursery, and removing invasive plant species.


Water Quality Monitor 09/2017 —  03/2018

San Diego Coastkeeper, San Diego, CA 

  • Collected water samples from various streams in teams within San Diego watersheds, gathering data on temperature, pH, turbidity, and conductivity for comprehensive laboratory analysis of nutrient loads and bacteria.

  • Support with in-classroom education lessons in sustainability, marine, and wetland science activities to empower underrepresented elementary to middle school students to pursue STEM careers.
