Jared Candelario

I am currently working here part-time to maintain myself while I finish up school. At this job, I handle a variety of tasks efficiently, which definitely helps me practice my multitasking skills. At this job, I have learned to follow proper safety protocols for a handful of things. I am tasked with providing friendly and positive customer service to enhance the guest experience, to ensure the return of clientele. I have experience working with many different personalities. I get along great with others, and I adapt to difficult work situations. I am a very dedicated worker, and I focus on maximizing performance. I learned to get along great with co-workers to ensure great team efficiency. We were tasked with rotating through different positions daily. I learned to handle food safely, following all protocols. During my time here, I always like to take the initiative, go above and beyond, and help in different areas of the workspace to keep busy and ensure we get the work done. I volunteered to learn and take on different, more difficult parts of the job to expand my skill set whenever it was available. Here at my job, I love to constantly take notes whenever I complete a certain task to ensure I retain all the information learned.

This was my longest job until I began school at CET in San Jose for HVAC Service Technician. At this job, my main role was assisting our members with the most positive attitude and a smile. Anytime our members had any issues with the facility, we would be there to assist. We occasionally did walkthroughs, which were just basically taking a maintenance cart around the facility and stocking all of our hand towels and cleaning solutions. This job required a lot of problem-solving skills. Many of our members come to the gym to simply work out, or maybe they have had a bad day, which always makes it important to be considerate and give a warm welcome with politeness and enthusiasm. Lots of physical work was also a requirement. Occasionally, members would forget to recheck weights, which gave me the initiative to pick them up and return them to their location to keep the facility neat and available to others who would like to use them. This job required social skills, physical endurance, problem solving, communication, de-escalation, as well as critical thought.

During my time working as a landscape gardener, I was assigned many tasks that required lots of physical endurance, efficiency, precision, and cleanliness. I was tasked with designing and maintaining flowerbeds and garden layouts. I operated power tools and equipment all while following proper protocols to maintain a safe environment for myself and all those around me. My main goal throughout my time at the company was to ensure client satisfaction with both customer service communication and work ethic, to keep our clients happy, and to encourage them to return to us whenever assistance was needed. Through this job I was able to gain exceptional customer service skills and the experience needed to be able to defuse any situation with flustered or frustrated clientele. I also have some experience with preventative maintenance by doing daily analyzations of the lawns and gardens we had previously serviced on to ensure any questions or concerns left by our clients do not go unanswered.
