Achievement 1: CPL Duarte was one of the original dozen Soldiers to arrive and help set conditions to activate 1-51 ADA BN. He trained and certified on one of the first and only U.S. Iron Dome Defense System-Army (IDDS-A) crews. CPL Duarte utilized his expertise to train newly arrived soldiers as IDDS-A Tactical Control Assistants, which led to Bravo Battery becoming IDDS-A Table VIII certified. CPL Duarte extended influence outside the organization and trained Alpha Battery Soldiers on Sentinel Radar crew operations.
Achievement 2: CPL Duarte demonstrated exceptional selfless service by assisting over two dozen incoming Soldiers as a sponsor. His unwavering loyalty and dedication to both his peers and new arrivals facilitated smooth transitions into the unit. CPL Duarte went above and beyond his sponsor responsibilities by sacrificing personal time to help new Soldiers secure living accommodations and transportation. His proactive approach ensured that each Soldier felt supported and welcomed, significantly contributing to the unit's cohesion and morale. His commitment reflects the highest standards of service.
Achievement 3: CPL Duarte significantly contributed to his team's success across various missions, including IDDS-A Table IV testing, numerous simulated air battles, and Sentinel crew certifications. He organized and led study sessions on Air Defense topics, leveraging his previous Sentinel experience during the transition to High Powered Microwave (HPM). As a Sentinel Operator for HPM at the first Engineer Development Test (EDT), CPL Duarte provided essential feedback that aided program development.
Achievement 4: CPL Duarte dedicated over 100 hours of his personal time to volunteer outside of his unit since his arrival. His consistent engagement with the community not only serves as a positive example for fellow Soldiers but also enhances the public perception of Soldiers as role models. His commitment reflects his strong character and offers the community insight into what it truly means to serve in the Army. CPL Duarte's efforts promote a positive image and inspire others through his selfless actions.
