Assisting the lead surgeon with the cannulation of vessels and the administration of cold preservation solutions (such as HTK or Perfadex Plus) to flush and cool the organs.

Intraoperative Assistance: Providing expert exposure and hemostasis during the retrieval. This often involves assisting with the sternotomy or laparotomy and identifying key anatomical structures like aorta, vena cava, and specific arterial branches.

Packaging and Transport: Ensuring the organs are triple bagged, placed in sterile containers with the appropriate preservation media, and properly labeled for transport to the recipient hospital.

Responsible for handling logistical aspect of procurement. documentation of important time frames like Donor in room, Incision, Heparin, etc.

Being available for 24 Hour call shifts, for Organ procurement fly outs.

Responsible for knowing packaging protocol for Paragonix Lunguard, Sherpak, Baroguard.

• Surgically remove Tissues from Consented Donors
• Being in charge of case load and logistics for high activity
• Reviewing and accurately confirming medical records and Authorization for donor eligibility before conducting Tissue recovery.
• Using Sterile technique to make incisions and remove heart valves, saphenous vein and Femoral Veins, AI grafts, Tendons and Muscles and long bones, Split and Full Thickness skin from donors using sterile technique and in a timely fashion.
• Making sure to keep good relationships with hospitals when traveling to hospital OR's for tissue recoveries
• Drawing blood samples from donors for Serological testing
• Working 24 hour call shifts for consecutive days in a week
• Taking on projects to better help or improve the Tissue recovery department
• Helping with making schedules for the Tissue Recovery Team members
• Reconstruction with suturing of the donor after tissue recovery is complete

• Assisted in the administration of local anesthesia and other sedation methods
• Assisted in trouble shooting anesthesia machines for safe and accurate reading during surgeries
• Assisted in intubation and placement of Central lines during CABG and TAVR surgeries
• Restocking and counting anesthesia drugs in Operating rooms
• Using Sterile technique to build Sterile trays in preparation for Heart Surgery
• Monitor patients vital signs during operations to assure optimal patient outcome
