  • Diarra Blue, Michael Laveine, and Aubrey Ross Notable Tuskegee Alumni.
  • In these three weeks I completed multiple spay and neuter surgeries alongside thoes doctors
  • I also assisted Ashley Parker (DVM) with A cystotomy to remove Urinary bladder stones.
  • Assisted Dr. Laveine with an emergency Cesarian in which we removed 10 puppies due to dystocia.
  • Assited Dr Laveign with a TPLO surgery in a large breed dog
  • Overall, Cy-Fair put me up to the challenged through surgeries, radiographic interpretations, talking and explaining disease processes to clients and overall knowledge base critical thinking senarios.
  • I also benefited from the overall way the hospital ran the practice with the assistance of the veterinary nurses.

  • In these three weeks I completed multiple spay and neuter surgeries to improve my skills and I also stood alonside Dr. Griffith board certified Orthopedic surgeon and assisted him with multiple TPLO surgries as well as FHO surgeries and an elbow surgery.
  • I was challenged by Dr. Austin through my critical thinking
  • Dr. Austin also challenged my ability to interpret bloodwork, and various diagnostic test
  • Dr. Austin also put me to the test on how to interact with clients during difficult situations in preparation for difficult times

Animal Critical Care Emergency Summer 2023 Internship

  • Completed a 4-month long clinical Internship experience where I spent most of my time working alongside 3 Emergency veterinarians learning patient assessment skills including the performance of physical examinations, client patient history taking, laboratory and diagnostic workups including blood work, urinalysis, CPH testing, Parvo testing, drug testing etc
  • I also spent most of my time learning to place IV Catheters, nasogastric intubation, urinary catherterization where I performed many placements successfully with the assistance of a licensed veterinary technicians.
  • I also gained CPR skills in case of an emergency code and learned valuable emergency drugs and their Pharmakokenetics
  • I spent time practicing anesthesia and suturing skills in preparation for Junior surgery. I also administered medication to sick animals, fed, cleaned enclosures, and monitored sick patients for overnight observations
  • I also assisted with many hit by car patients that needed resucitation immediatley and quickly learned how to think critically in thoes situations
  • During this time I saw many sick patients including: Congestive heart failure patients, Acute pancreatitis patients, Urethral obstructed cats and many others that I assited in the work up of these patients whether it be quick aggressive fluid therapy along with CRI Analgesic administration
  • My ability to think critical was an important part of this learning experience
