As a firefighter I was able to cook at the fire station in between emergency fire and medical calls, and this is where my love of food developed. I have worked in various culinary jobs as an entry level cook to chef while working as a firefighter. I went to culinary school to increase my knowledge in the kitchen and to pursue my goal of being a sous chef. After I retired from the fire department, I moved in to the culinary field full time.
I am experienced with preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. I utilize effective time management and multitasking skills to ensure efficient meal preparation and I have extensive knowledge of food safety standards. I am tasked with the refrigeration logs in my current kitchen. I take pride in creating a collaborative team atmosphere and a positive work environment.
