Primary source of employment over the last twenty plus years has been hardwood flooring, but have worked a great deal of different jobs operating equipment and machinery of all different types. Also have worked as a sky rigger, an industrial hemp farm machine operator, a factory worker, farm worker, metal shop worker, a pressure washer, a cook and food prep, a janitor, and even as a musician and a bouncer. Many of the companies worked for often worked long hours, which was never a problem for me.
I am actually still employed by Sam's Hardwood at this time, but work has slowed down so much this year that I need to move on immediately.
Did many of the same tasks listed at the other flooring companies, but this company focused particularly on large sanding and finishing of hardwood all over the Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg area.
Supervised new crew members and educated them on the operation of heavy sanding equipment.
Operated Hummel drum sanders, Clarke edgers and buffers.
Applied heavy duty floor finishes, often in an old fashioned manner with china bristle and lambs wool applicators.
