Work History

Pharmacist

Centerwell Mail-Order Pharmacy
12.2017 - Current
  • Responsibilities: As a remote pharmacist I was involved in several tasks daily. These included: screening prescriptions from most states with an emphasis on regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration to develop and implement process changes to improve the patient experience and spearheading new initiatives across departments to improve the patient experience. These process changes including reviewing fax responses from providers on the following topics: cross-sensitivity on certain drug allergies, low dose GLP-1 inhibitors, and GLP-1 and DPP-4 inhibitors dual therapy. Along with clinical review and fax responses from providers, I was able to suggest changes in our process to improve the patient experience. Since my current employer serves the aging population, I have experience with dealing with patients with several comorbidities. These include, but not limited to, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypothyroidism, and depression/anxiety.

Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Preceptor

Walgreens Pharmacy

  • Responsibilities: As an APPE preceptor, I help develop and teach pharmacy interns in all areas of MTM in a community setting.
  • James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy
  • Supervisor: Mike Doherty

Lead Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Pharmacist

Walgreens Pharmacy
01.2015 - 12.2017
  • Responsibilities: As a lead MTM pharmacist in my district I implemented effective MTM protocols at our pharmacies. The successful implementation of these protocols can lead to better patient care through increasing adherence and performing comprehensive medication reviews. In addition to benefiting our patients, it also is a great way to increase revenue in the pharmacy. As a pharmacist, I was a staff pharmacist at three different Walgreens locations where I was able to incorporate my MTM experience into my daily routine to better serve my patients. The first location was located within a mile of Summit Behavioral Healthcare. Due to the proximity, we filled high volumes of psychiatric drugs and offered counseling to patients and/or caregivers upon hospital discharge. Since we were dispensing higher volumes, I became more familiar with these drugs to better serve my patients. The third location was just off the campus of The University of Cincinnati. This area is surrounded by four major hospitals, countless doctor’s offices and addiction treatment facilities. Due to the unique location of the pharmacy, it gave me experience in dispensing and counseling on drug addiction therapies, as well as psychiatric medications for youth and adolescent patients.
