- Street Maintenance Specialist has to be safely proficient at operating various types of heavy and small equipment in heavy traffic areas, to fix and maintain the cities infrastructure. You're required to have formal training in chainsaw safety, confined space, trenching and shoring. Various jobs include: Tree removal, chipping, stump grinding, restoration of any turf, concrete, or asphalt damage in city right of way. Snow plowing and removal from city streets. Removal of all residential leaves throughout the city and putting them through a composting process. Knowledgeable in the cities GIS system to help locate and mark underground utilities. Responsible for planting 75 trees/yr and maintaining roughly 20 trees in our nursery stock.

- Responsible for supervising 20+ seasonal workers in maintaining the Cities 13 parks, 10 restrooms, soccer fields, softball and baseball fields, skatepark, spray park, tennis courts, shuffle board courts, GKB trail, Michigan Vietnam Memorial, and Riverside Cemetery. Maintained a fertilizer and watering schedule for over 200 petunia baskets in the downtown streetscape.

- I was responsible for the conditions of the golf course. I managed 15-20 crew members, irrigation tech, and a mechanic, scheduled and performed all maintenance tasks. I monitored turf quality everyday checking moisture levels and adjusting irrigation run times. I helped maintain all of the course equipment in the winter months and sharpen reels and bed knives.
