As a Fire Alarm Designer, I performed the following duties: designed fire alarm and detection systems in accordance with all applicable codes and standards; including, but not limited to, NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, International Building Code, International Fire Code, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).

In the performance of my duties I designed fire alarm and detection systems for offices, warehouses, retail establishments, and energy storage facilities and included determining appropriate device mounting locations to meet code and local requirements, calculating battery requirements, voltage drop, and dB loss for voice evacuation systems.

Additionally, while in this role, I have designed the most complex and biggest fire alarm systems in the history of Allied Fire Protection to include multiple projects for the United States military and privately owned data centers.

As an Installation Technician, I installed, tested, inspected and maintained commercial fire alarm systems and ensured all systems complied with applicable codes. I also conducted inspections of these systems with the local AHJ. Typical systems and devices installed/tested/inspected included addressable fire alarm control panels, analog fire alarm control panels, addressable, analog, and conventional photoelectric smoke detectors, conventional heat detectors, combination smoke/heat detectors, projected beam smoke detectors, sampling tube duct detectors with HVAC shutdown, manual pull stations, sprinkler waterflow switches, sprinkler valve supervisory switches, sprinkler water pump supervision, dry system air pressure supervision, kitchen suppression integration, elevator recall, elevator power shunt, and bi-directional radio amplification system supervision. Performed and supervised the installation, programming, inspection, testing, and commissioning of new fire alarm systems and additions to existing fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 regulations as well as local AHJ requirements. Completed and assisted with the completion of NFPA 72, Texas State Fire Marshal, and local AHJ required documentation. 99% of systems and devices were installed in mercantile, manufacturing facilities, commercial office buildings, and government facilities.

As a Project Manager, I directed project teams in the installation of commercial fire alarm systems, commercial intrusion detection systems, electronic access control systems, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera systems and ensured all systems were installed in compliance with all applicable codes. I also ensured projects were completed within the allotted time frame and budget, conducted parts/supplies ordering, and coordinated with the General Contractors and AHJs. Typical systems and devices installed/tested/inspected included addressable fire alarm control panels, analog fire alarm control panels, addressable, analog, and conventional photoelectric smoke detectors, conventional heat detectors, combination smoke/heat detectors, projected beam smoke detectors, sampling tube duct detectors with HVAC shutdown, manual pull stations, sprinkler waterflow switches, sprinkler valve supervisory switches, sprinkler water pump supervision, dry system air pressure supervision, kitchen suppression integration, elevator recall, elevator power shunt, and bi-directional radio amplification system supervision. As a Torque and Test Operator, I was responsible for conducting hydrostatic pressure testing (up to 20,000psi) of oil production pressure vessels to ensure vessel reliability and integrity of all field connections.

I was also responsible for the maintenance and calibration of the $30,000 hydrostatic pressure testing pump/equipment.

As a Torque and Test Operator, I was responsible for assembling oil well valves and production stacks (manifolds, blow-out preventers, lubricators, etc.) and torquing all flange bolts to industry required specifications and conducting hydrostatic pressure testing of oil production pressure vessels to ensure vessel reliability and integrity of all field connections.

As an Installation Technician, I installed, tested, inspected and maintained commercial fire alarm systems, commercial and residential intrusion detection systems, electronic access control systems, and commercial and residential closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera systems and ensured all systems complied with applicable codes. I also conducted inspections of these systems with the local AHJ. Typical systems and devices installed/tested/inspected included addressable fire alarm control panels, analog fire alarm control panels, addressable, analog, and conventional photoelectric smoke detectors, conventional heat detectors, combination smoke/heat detectors, projected beam smoke detectors, sampling tube duct detectors with HVAC shutdown, manual pull stations, sprinkler waterflow switches, sprinkler valve supervisory switches, sprinkler water pump supervision, dry system air pressure supervision, kitchen suppression integration, elevator recall, and elevator power shunt. As the Chief of Police, I was overall responsible for the lawful administration of the police department and its officers in accordance with state and federal statutes. I was also the direct supervisor of eight police officers.

My duties also consisted of creating a nearly 1000 page department-wide policing policy manual, maintaining a strict budget, managing $100,000 of police equipment and vehicles, and conducting all department administrative and firearms training.

Supervised daily operations of patrol units to ensure compliance with departmental policies. Developed and implemented training programs for new officers, enhancing operational readiness. Coordinated investigations, facilitating collaboration between detectives and patrol officers. Analyzed crime data to identify trends, improving resource allocation for community safety initiatives. Led community outreach programs, fostering positive relationships between police department and residents. Managed incident response protocols, ensuring timely and effective action during emergencies. Oversaw evidence collection procedures, maintaining chain of custody for integrity in investigations. Served as mentor and role model to junior officers. Answered emergency calls for help from citizens and business owners. Managed personnel schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for shifts while minimizing overtime expenses. Accompanied police officers during shifts to evaluate performance and resolve incorrect behaviors. Provided critical incident command during emergency situations, directing response efforts to protect public safety swiftly. Developed and maintained positive relationships with community members.

Additionally, from August 2014 to November 2014, I was the Acting Chief of Police when the appointed Chief of Police was killed in the line of duty.

As a Service Technician, I serviced, repaired, maintained, and inspected commercial fire alarm systems, commercial intrusion detection systems, electronic access control systems, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems. Typical systems and devices serviced, repaired, maintained, tested, inspected included addressable fire alarm control panels, analog fire alarm control panels, addressable, analog, and conventional photoelectric smoke detectors, conventional heat detectors, combination smoke/heat detectors, projected beam smoke detectors, sampling tube duct detectors with HVAC shutdown, manual pull stations, sprinkler waterflow switches, sprinkler valve supervisory switches, sprinkler water pump supervision, dry system air pressure supervision, kitchen suppression integration, elevator recall, and elevator power shunt. Performed required recurring inspections and testing of existing fire alarm systems and additions to existing fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 regulations as well as local AHJ requirements. Completed and assisted with the completion of NFPA 72, Texas State Fire Marshal, and local AHJ required documentation for maintenance, repair, and recurring inspections.

I was responsible for leading a team of four to six Security Forces members in military law enforcement, base security, and Air Base Ground Defense Operations which included the use of small arms to heavy weapons, armored and unarmored vehicles, subject restraint techniques and processing detainees.

During this time, I deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation NEW DAWN, from January 2008 to August 2008.

Also, during this time, I achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6) and received multiple medals and decorations.

Enforced laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order. Conducted routine patrols to deter crime and respond to incidents. Collaborated with community members to build trust and enhance public relations. Investigated reported crimes, gathered evidence, and prepared detailed reports. Maintained responsibility for a specialized database containing over $580 million of precision guided munitions, personnel and equipment readiness tracking, coordinated with the base fire department for all explosive operations, and participated in the transportation of over 1 million tons of munitions and munitions related components to be deployed to overseas locations in direct support of the Global War on Terrorism.

As an additional, volunteer duty, I was a member of the Lackland Air Force Base Honor Guard and participated in over 300 military funerals to ensure the dignified and honorable resting of prior and active military members.

During this time, I received numerous medals and decorations for valor and conduct and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5).
