Work History

Postdoctoral Scholar

UCSF Health
08.2023 - 07.2025

In Hata Lab, I am currently working on a project Ang-II induced hypertension and vascular remodeling in RSK2 KO mice. I am also helping on other projects which aim to find new targets for Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease.

Postdoctoral Scholar

University Of Virginia, School Of Medicine
04.2021 - 07.2023

As a postdoc at Somlyo Laboratory I have identified p90 ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK2) as the kinase responsible for contraction and myosin regulatory light chain (RLC20) phosphorylation in myosin light chain kinase (MLCK) null SM cells and blood vessels. This discovery convincingly demonstrates that RSK2 functions as an MLCK in smooth muscle. I have also discovered that RSK2 and its upstream activator, PDK1, are associated with MLCK and bind as a complex to actin forming a signaling hub on the actin filament.

One research paper and AHA-postdoctoral Fellowship

Senior Research Fellow

Indian Veterinary Research Institute
03.2015 - 02.2016
  • Generated high-quality, professional papers for submission to scientific publications.
  • Oversaw studies, documented data, and extrapolated results.
  • Worked on project exploring the role of natural triterpeniod in a mice model of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I induced IBD using 10% dextran sodium sulfate and effects of betulinic acid, a natural triterpenoid was studied in ameliorating the IBD.
