As unit head, I have had the opportunity to successfully manage various company projects and objectives on this farm, optimizing the material and human resources assigned to me for this purpose. I am responsible for the reproduction system from the most basic to the highest standards.

Among some other activities I perform, I can mention the

following:

• Incorporation of new gilts into the system (as well as transfer incidents and upon arrival at the farm), incorporation of inseminated gilts, removal of gilts that leave the cull, removal of gilts that leave the cull, removal from the system of groups of gilts that are left empty, report of dead gilts.

• Perfect control of the production snake through which each of the groups of inseminated gilts moves during their stay on the farm.

• Control of the quantity and type of feed that gilts should

consume depending on their condition (open, newly inseminated and pregnant).

• Preg Chek: monitoring the pregnancy check schedule for the various groups of gilts, performing the ultrasound scan, and reporting the results in the different areas of the system.

• Incorporation into the system: treatments, vaccines, deaths, earring numbers, inseminated, PCN’s, DNC’s, abortions.

• Extensive knowledge and high degree of effectiveness as an inseminator.

• Full knowledge of biosecurity protocols in sensitive areas such as the main entrance and incinerator.

• Preparation of monthly reports, including medication and feed inventories.

• Proficient use of the Animal Directory section of the system, where each gilt is tracked for adding or correcting information.

• Requesting supplies, feed, semen, diesel, and creating maintenance tickets.

• Knowledge of the farm’s alarm system (SENTINEL).

• Monitoring the daily farm temperature in the F-Central Farm

Manager system.

• Knowledge of minor maintenance tasks, including replacing motors and electrical equipment.

• Physical performance of saliva, blood, and swab tests, as well as their incorporation into the system.

Main activities: insemination of gilts, administration of medications and vaccines, physical loading and unloading of sows from trucks, euthanasia, taking saliva, blood and myco samples, pre-check, knowledge and application of biosecurity protocols.
