As control room operator, I play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility. I operate and monitor all major components of this combined-cycle power plant while adhering to safety standards, operational procedures, and state and federal criteria. I maintain logs, records, and data sheets; prepare trends and reports; communicate all information with other operators, maintenance personnel, managers, contractors, owner's representatives, natural gas pipeline companies, and scheduling entities. I also conduct numerous plant-wide safety meetings and various training topics.

SACHEM is a specialty chemical manufacturing company based out of Austin, Texas, with locations in Austin, Cleburne, China, Japan, and Europe. I was involved with the startup of the Cleburne plant.
As an operations shift supervisor, I was in charge of a small crew of operators who manufactured numerous chemical products mostly used in the computer industry. I conducted daily safety pre-job briefings. I personally trained each crew member in safety, operations, packaging, and shipping of our products. I set and met daily performance goals and communicated with the laboratory, managers, Ph.D. chemists, and company owners.

I completed a 12-month course and received certification in Society of Chemical Manufacturing (chemistry, manufacturing, safety, federal/state regulations) and also an 18-month course and received certification in Power Plant Physical Sciences, chemistry, print reading, and federal/state regulations. I have also taken and completed numerous certification courses in various topics, such as, safety compliance, safety systems, time management, quality control, effective supervision, creating goals, computer operating systems, emergency response, FERC/NERC, and DOT pipeline training.
Leadership
I am an active member of First Baptist Church of Cleburne, where I serve my church, pastor, and community. I have been a member of many church committees and have been the chairman of many of those. I have served as a member and chairman of a non-profit organization that supported you pastors and evangelists in several states and communities.
