Motivated handler comfortable lifting up 100 pounds and operating job-related equipment and tools. Punctual and diligent individual proficient in stacking and storing merchandise, shrink-wrapping and stacking pallets and verifying orders before and after shipment. Certified forklift operator.
Performs work required to construct and repair wooden containers of various sizes and types, odd-shaped pallets, and wooden bracing to secure items in containers and/or hold-boxes during shipment.
Essential job functions require fabrication and repair of various sizes and types of wooden items, uses a variety of power tools such as table saws, radial arm saws, nail guns and staple guns. Blocking & bracing is a load securement method using lumber and metal bars to reduce or inhibit front to rear shifting of freight/cargo.
Operate Forklift to move heavy equipment, crates, containers.
Responsible for creating the proper containers for shipping all material to CONUS and Non-Conus destinations.
Responsible for filling out the required documentation necessary for shipping out-bound material.
Responsible for inspecting all material and associated documentation; thereby, ensuring compliance with the US Army-Self-Certification Solid Wood Packing Material (SWPM) Program prior to shipping.
Additional job functions include verifying material information, care of supplies in storage (COSIS), condition coding of material, and processing material release orders (MROs) in compliance with established performance objectives.
Will be required to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in conjunction with daily duties. Knowledge of the Army supply system preferred. May be cross-utilized in other job areas to meet contract requirements as necessary.
Additional duties may be assigned to support contract requirements in a job-related area such as environmental, safety and security.
Must be able to obtain and retain a secret clearance. Must have a basic knowledge of Army logistics terminology and related supply management functions.
Will be expected to participate in warehouse maintenance and/or clean-up of work-related areas. Must be able to work overtime when required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
