As the current Custodial Supervisor at Connecticut College, adept in overseeing a diverse team of 44 FTE and 7 on-call staff, ensuring top-notch campus cleanliness and event setup for up to 4,000 guests. I currently supervise and manage a team of 44 FTE custodial employees, 7 on call support staff across the campus that work two different shifts along with weekend support for on campus events. Our staff clean the interior residential housing for students for over 1900 plus students that occupy over twenty plus residential houses including off campus apartments. Our staff also clean interior academic buildings with offices, multipurpose rooms for conferences and events, lectures halls, including spaces that the arts, music, and science department occupy. These staff also set up for numerous events during the year which then concludes for our annual set up for commencement for as many as four thousand plus guests on the Temple Green, which include our graduating class, parents, trustees, faculty and staff. All while this, we are turning over a few dorms for summer housing students all while we are preparing for for the annual reunion weekend for as many as a thousand alumni that return. This includes housing most of those alumni on campus in as little as two weeks after graduation and most students have departed.
During our project season (3) I coordinate and manage the deep cleaning of these spaces throughout the campus, which includes the turnover of dorm rooms, to prepare for the next semester. During this time I coordinate with the facilities management team with our projects that follow or coincide in and around in house construction projects as well as exterior contractors that work on campus, i.e painting, dorm or classroom renovations, etc.
I oversee and manage an inventory of college owned furniture as well as custodial related equipment.
I manage the daily time reports through our online portal Dayforce for all FTE staff as well as scheduling and managing for staff time off, FMLA, and WC related time.
I manage and over see employees personal files, that include yearly training with our Health and Safety Director for annual training on OSHA and EPA standards, and annual human resources/department evaluations. I input work orders in our TMA campus system for repairs and requests for custodial support for tracking purposes.
I manage and oversee the security our staff's department keys to all of the buildings across campus.
