• Provides health education to patients and families. Develops, evaluates, adapts, and documents education to learning needs. Assists in preparation of the department specific education for patients and colleagues.

Provides professional nursing care to family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatric patients in an ambulatory care setting.

• Triaging patients, assessing, monitoring, sterile vaginal exams, reporting important patient and fetal information to the doctors.
• Reading and interpreting fetal monitoring during spontaneous, induced, and epiduralized labor.
• Being the patients advocate to provide the labor and delivery experience that they desire in a safe manner.

• Assessing newborn immediately after birth and during hospital stay, assisting with transfer of newborn if becomes unstable for normal newborn nursery, stabilizing newborn until transfer complete.

• Recovery Postpartum care of the mother after vaginal birth as well as c-section.
• Surgical skills in scrubbing and circulating for c-section, tubal ligation and D&C.
