This was a family owned business that expanded and grew quickly selling a desirable commodity in the trucking industry. Their production focus was the re-manufacturing of diesel engines and drive shafts and then placing those components into a new chassis and selling the product at a fraction of the cost of a new truck. I held several positions with the company, this being the last before moving north to Indiana in 2016.
Responsibilities included but were not limited to :
*Conferred with customers about concerns with products or services to resolve issues quickly and provide a positive experience.
*Managed customer relations through daily communication and interaction both in person and via telephone.
*Assisted with secretarial and office tasks for the service manager.
*Created and processed invoices for all repair and maintenance services.
This was a position I held for 2 years with the company. With around 20,000 glider trucks on the road and numerous parts that could potentially fail, processing warranty claims was, many days, unrelenting.
My duties included:
*Kept in close communication with the warranty department about daily claims.
*Shipped new parts nationwide and internationally. Many parts were shipped via UPS, however, when larger, heavier parts were required to be shipped, I prepared the product for departure and sought quotes from freight companies and communicated those shipping records to accounts payable.
*Received defective parts and submitted claims and parts to vendors for warranty reimbursement.
*Maintained detailed spreadsheets documenting all claims, costs, reimbursements, and communication with both vendors and internal warranty department.
I accepted this position with the company and had no knowledge of the difference between a bolt and a screw. However, I dedicated myself to learning all I could as quickly as I could and was grateful for the confidence entrusted in me. It was a fast-paced job that required constant attentiveness to detail and accuracy. As production demands grew exponentially, so did the challenge of streamlining processes for optimal efficiency and maintaining stock of over 800 different parts where the lack of just one could interrupt production. I learned to work well under pressure!
My responsibilities included:
*Established and managed vendor relationships.
*Created purchase orders with over 40 vendors.
*Oversaw purchase order shipments by managing deadlines and cancellation dates.
*Verified receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered and resolved shipment order errors with suppliers. Maintained close communication with the accounting department.
*Performed weekly inventory assessments.
