Projects

"The Shruggy"

Feburary 2024

  • Played a pivotal role in a 6-member 1st Place team in a 48-hour competition, innovating a cost-effective ($31) device enabling C4-level spinal cord injury patients to play video games via shoulder movements, featuring a universal design
  • Engineered an Arduino-powered device to interpret shoulder movements with flex sensors, translating inputs into controller button commands for enhanced accessibility in gaming

Shoe-Adaptable Pigeon Feet Trainer

January 2021 - May 2021

  • Collaborated in 4-member team to design pigeon feet trainer to help 10% of children in the U.S prevent poor weight distribution, reduced shock absorption, stress fractures in outer bones, and arthritis from abnormal joint positions
  • Prototyped a Raspberry Pi and SONAR-powered device to assess foot orientation, utilizing Python code to communicate with separate DC circuit managing user-friendly corrective device

"Spidey" Deaf Assistant Headset

June 2020 - August 2020

  • Developed an assistive technology prototype for deaf users conveying dangerous sounds and nearby movement through non audio signals,
  • Raspberry Pi-powered headset uses microphone and LIDAR devices to detect nearby stimuli. Inputs are processed through a Python danger rating calculator and outputs to a 4-color LED DC circuit to alert user within 0.5 seconds
