I was the founder and sole owner of both stores. The first, a UPS-like packing and shipping business, was my baby. I oversaw all aspects of the business on an hourly basis, generally employing two or three assistants. My remarkable employees readily adopted my goals, and to how best to attain them. The store became an iconic presence in Taos County. The second store focused on printing and graphics. A younger sister managed the store for me, eventually buying each in 2014.

• Compiled research materials such as statistics, interviews, quotes, and theories into cohesive sports statistics. I published a book focusing on the sports and horse racing wagering scene in Las Vegas. Along those lines, I wrote for various gambling-related weekly and monthly Vegas newspapers and magazines. Additionally, I worked at a bookstore in Vegas, focusing on customers interested in gambling-related publications.

My start date was in 1969. I love horses and horse racing. I took a temporary job which lasted 15 years! The horse breed

is Standardbred. They pull a sulky in one-mile races. I loved the work, hated the weather. Poverty lasted long enough to make me very comfortable with minimal possessions. This is a gift.
