Focused last twelve years in Adult and Pediatric Oncology, spending approximately 70-80% of work assignments serving a Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic, large Outpatient Infusion Center, an inpatient Adult Oncology floor, and inpatient pediatric oncology patients. The balance of assignments included servicing cardiac, medical, and neuro intensive care units; in addition to ortho/surg units, step down units, general medicine floors and emergency department.

• Extensive experience in collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes; including daily rounding, providing drug information to a variety of health care staff; interpreting, screening, and processing treatment plans and medication orders; providing clinical services such as antibiotic stewardship and dosing, pharmacokinetic consultation, coumadin/anticoagulant dosing, parenteral nutrition consultation, responding to arrest codes, as well as other services; all in accordance with hospital and system wide policies.
• Multi-decade experience in all areas of IV admixture compounding; including chemotherapy, other hazardous products, and routine sterile preparations typically dispensed in institutions. Strong ability to supervise, train, and mentor technicians to ensure a safe and positive environment .
• Developed strong relationships with physicians, nurses, fellow pharmacists, and other clinicians facilitating communication in enhancing teamwork and collaboration for better patient care coordination.
• Conducted patient education on med reconciliation, anticoagulation counseling, and discharge counseling. Instructed patients on important medication details in bi-weekly Heart Failure classes aimed at minimizing readmissions.
• Educated PY1 residents and pharmacy students during their rotations in assigned service areas.
• Established initial workflow for a pilot project to create pharmacist positions in the emergency department. The project resulted in new pharmacist positions servicing the ED for both the day and evening shifts.
• Served and represented pharmacy department in interdisciplinary problem-solving groups, attending meetings and providing input.
