- I am currently an Emergency Room Technician at Hillsboro Medical Center. Our ED sees a wide variety of patients. I have many roles in my scope of practice, they include vital signs, assisting the nurses with admissions, setting patients up on telemetry, EKG’s, straight stick blood draws, splinting, setting up for procedures. As a tech we are also responsible for a desk assignment which includes phones, monitoring patient call lights, the patient's heart monitors, paging physicians and setting up transportation at discharge.

I had the pleasure of observing her throughout the training, interacting with others in the classroom and clinical setting. When I watched her in class, performing skills and when working with others it became obvious that she was a kind, caring person. She was very knowledgeable and compassionate about the job and other people. She assured that person-centered care was embraced and demonstrated. She engaged in a cooperative working relationship and is very passionate about performing care for others and exhibits amazing interpersonal skills with her teammates. She has been an amazing mentor for others in the class who had little to no experience in healthcare. She never mentioned to others that she had a background as a nurse. It explained her amazing knowledge and care and willingness in assisting others.
Jenifer followed standardized procedures and supervisor instructions to complete tasks as well as accepts guidance to complete tasks to the highest standard. Jenifer displays the highest standard of integrity and ethical behavior. She takes initiative to prioritize tasks and completes them with purposefulness when she learned the skills. She has an obvious dedication to work in healthcare. She approaches her job with confidence and an amazing positive attitude. She is meant to be in healthcare.
