I worked as a Paraprofessional in the Milford Public School System in the summer of 2021 and 2022 for the Extended School Year Program. Both years I worked two weeks with elementary grade students, and four weeks with the PGTA Program (Post-Graduate Transition Academy).

When working with the elementary students, I:

• Assisted students learning in individualized task to improve their motor skills, social and emotional learning skills, and provide support to their targeted learning goals.
• Encouraged students learning through drawing, creating with blocks, playing, and practicing naming colors, letters, and shapes.

When working with the PGTA program, I:

• Assisted their growth in life skills such as: communication, purchasing items, learning to add money and making change, appropriate language/behavior towards others, also encouraging SEL with positive self-talk, and how to control/regulate their feelings in an effective way.
• Modeled life skills when going into the community and practiced cleaning, organizing, working in a business with customers and tending to the customers needs, selling food and working the cash register.

I worked as a long-term substitute teacher for Milford Public School District at Pumpkin Delight Elementary School when I came home from college. I was a substitute special educator from May until June in 2021, and in May to June of 2022, I was subbing long-term as the media teacher.

When working as a special educator, I:

• Provided one on one instruction to students in a resource room, which allowed me to grow a strong bond and earn trust.
• Implemented activities to promote student participation such as interactive games and adapting the task to the students' personal interests.
