Float Nurse to Pediatric Med-Surg Units, Neuroscience and Pediatric Rehab unit.

TICU unit - Technology dependent Intensive Care Unit- Provide care for chronically ill babies and children with technology dependent needs in the hospital setting. Large focus on family education.

Common diagnosis: BPD, Tracheomalacia, Tracheal Stenosis, Anoxic Brain Injury, Genetic/Chromosomal disorders, Trach and Vent dependent ex-premies, Neuromuscular disorders, FTT, Feeding disorders, Seizure disorders, CP

• Care for children with weaning from Trilogy and LTV ventilators.
• Provide Tracheostomy care, trach suctioning, trach changing and airway maintenance.
• BPAP/CPAP
• Apnea/Brady monitoring
• Gastrostomy, Jejunal and NG/ND tube insertion and feeding.
• Deliver oral, GT/JT/NDT/ NG medication and IV medication.
• Blood draws: CVL, PICC line, capillary and peripheral.
• Wound care
• TPN/Lipids
• Monitor sedative/narcotic weaning
• Provide Parental/family teaching of trach and ventilator dependent patient in preparation for discharge.
• Collaborate closely with Pulmonologists, Intensivists, Nutrition, SW, PT, OT, ST, and child life.
• Charge Nurse, Preceptor for new RNs and Role transition nurses.
• Provide developmental activity and stimulation for developmentally delayed patients.

• Nurse manager of 20 bed pediatric rehabilitation unit. Responsible for staff, day to day activities on unit and collaborating care with medical director and therapies.

• Conferred with physicians to discuss diagnoses and devise well-coordinated treatment approaches.
• Monitored patients' conditions and reported changes in physical presentation, appearance, and behavior to discuss treatment with physicians.
• Administered medications via oral, GT and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Common patients diagnosis: Burn rehab, Asthma, Diabetes, Orthopedic rehab, JRA, Spina bifida, head trauma recovery.

Adult Med-Surg Unit.

• Managed elements of patient care from admission to discharge or transfer to other units.
