
Review individual claims for disability benefits under the provisions of Title II and Title XVI of the Social Security Act to determine the claimant’s eligibility for such benefits. Evaluate the basis for the claim after examining medical reports from physicians, hospitals, and medical labs as well as vocational information in view of the claimant’s disability, age, education, and work history. Clarify any issues by telephone interviews with claimants, administrators, physicians, attorneys, or other medical record personnel. Prepare a detailed written analysis of the case information providing a full explanation of the investigation, documentation, and assessment of the medical and other evidence that led to the decision concerning the claim.
Provide coordination of services to families of infants and toddlers with known or suspected developmental delays. Maintain documentation to comply with state regulations. Participate in the development , implementation, and monitoring of the Individualized Family Service Plan. Assist families in gaining access to service providers to secure needed services. Facilitate the timely delivery of services and continuously seek the appropriate services as necessary to help the development of each child. Facilitate the transition from Early Intervention to the Committee on Preschool Special Education program.
