Receiving inbound calls from members who have received calls regarding their medications or have concerns with medications, they have been prescribed. Motivating members to become compliant by refilling their prescriptions and/or coordinating necessary communication or scheduling with providers and pharmacies. Duties: Pulled automated restock reports from medication carousels for general and patient-specific bins (PSB) in the Omnicell cabinets. Answered telephones and aided nursing staff when able and directed their calls to a pharmacist for further assistance when necessary. Used the electronic medical record system (EPIC) to respond to medication requests. Became a part of the IV room team January 2017. Prepared emergent drips, piggyback antibiotics, and large volume drips for patient care. Batched intravenous (IV) solutions and antibiotics to restock within the Omnicell cabinets to ensure timely delivery and readiness for patient use. Prepared Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) solutions as well as Chemotherapy Admixtures.
Duties: Ran daily reports to load new patient medications into the automated machines (Accudose). As well as restocked the general and narcotic medications that were previously loaded. Readied medications for compounding and repackaging in preparation for patient delivery. Prepared IV solutions (piggybacks and large volumes), chemotherapy solutions and both Neonatal and adult TPNs. Answered telephones, processed dispenses and charges for patient billing and replenished the items stocked in my area.
