• During my time working with processors, other underwriters, closers/funders, and loan officers, manual underwriting was the norm due to limited automation. Later, I was promoted to Team Lead and had a team of processors, underwriters, closers/funders, and sales reps for a specific location.
• Our team mainly focused on underwriting for Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, New York, Florida, and Nevada.
• As the fulfillment center underwent center management changes, I took the opportunity to work in the new Fraud Detection department. In this position, I reviewed loans that did not pass Lexis/Nexis and resolved, suspended, or declined them. Additionally, it came to me for review when Credit or Income did not pass inspection.
• As a Fraud Investigator, I was also the lead reviewer for loans not purchased by the secondary market. I would review the reason and either document the purpose it should be accepted and sent back to the investor or we would assume the mortgage based on lending exceptions.
