I Learn America Synopsis: At the International High School at Lafayette, a Brooklyn public high school dedicated to newly arrived immigrants from all over the world, five teenagers strive to master English, adapt to families they haven\'t seen in years, and create a future of their own while coming of age in a new land.
Interests
I am one of the five students featured in the film During one full year, I worked with the filmmakers to tell my story and the stories of the 4 other students, the film has been showed in over 25 festivals including DOC NYC, Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, Thessaloníki Documentary Film Festival in Greece I had become an advocate for immigrant students like myself Furthermore, I have been involved in panels to discuss issues of immigration, education and youth in schools, universities and communities around the country I ran various workshops in schools in New York and Colorado encouraging local youth to explore their own relationship to immigration
