Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Federal Armed Security Officer for a Department of Homeland Security contract that was overseen by Federal Protective Service.
• Assigned to Ronald Reagan Building with such duties as but not limited to keeping Agents, visitors, and property safe.
• Detain individuals who are being seriously disruptive, violent or suspected of committing a crime while on the federally controlled property.
• Required to secure entrances during demonstrations and civil disturbances to prevent unauthorized access to the facility.
• Required to maintain reports and documents and may be required to testify in court.
• Required to maintain weapons qualification shooting twice a year on DHS ICE qualification course.
• Operated screening equipment, including X-ray machines and hand-wands.
• Patrolled the premises regularly to ensure safety of employees and visitors.
• Enforced all building rules and regulations in government facilities.

• Operate and monitor various systems, including electronic access controls, emergency notification systems, and burglar and fire alarms
• Investigate possible thefts by reviewing and exporting surveillance footage to support investigations and resolution of claims and facility operations
• Investigated and apprehended shoplifters and other potential criminals in store to increase protection and apply safety measures.
• Created an open line of communication between asset protection personnel and store associates, fostering a collaborative approach towards loss prevention efforts.
• Streamlined shrink management program and trained Loss Prevention Officers.
