I have worked for the Springfield Fire Department for 26 plus years. I was promoted to the position of Battalion Chief in August 2023 and I have been Battalion 1 Chief for two years.

Deployed to Germany for six months in 1997 as a Sergeant E5 Team Leader. Duties included patrol, shift leader and desk sergeant.
Deployed stateside post September 11, 2001 for airport security. Served as shift leader responsible for manpower/shift scheduling.
Deployed to Iraq 2003/04 as a Staff Sergeant/Squad Leader responsible for personnel, vehicles and equipment including sensitive items.

- operating detainment facilities
Led response of two military police teams to United Nations Headquarters Bombing at the Canal Hotel August 19, 2003. Established security and provided medical assistance.
