Experienced trapper with 35 plus years experience
Throughout my 26 plus years experience, I worked multiple foundry positions. Starting with the core molding department, there I operated vertical core molding machines, forklift operator, and core machine set up. After a few years I moved on to the finishing room where I operated robotic trim press machines, robotic grinding cells, along with manual finishing, and forklift operations. Then moving to the Shakeout Department where I am currently at. In the shakeout department we remove casting from gating and excess sand using hydraulic wedges. I’ve worked as a team leader in the department, which includes assisting in training new hires, and assigning the proper personnel to each line to most efficiently process the castings.
I’ve been trapping in the state of Michigan for 35 plus years Trapping ( muskrats, mink, raccoons, beaver, otter, fox, coyotes, skunks, bobcats, fisher, marten) Using various types of foothold traps, conibears, dog proof raccoon traps, live traps I’ve done extensive muskrat damage control on multiple golf courses, private ponds with very good success Countless numbers of raccoon damage control multiple farms, removing from feed bunkers, hay barns, and old outbuildings Lots of skunk damage control using spray proof skunk traps with great success I’ve trapped high numbers of problem coyotes for private land owners, and a few horse farms I was asked to remove problem otter from a trout pond with only using live traps, that was interesting but managed getting 4 otter in two weeks I’ve trapped damage control beaver for years Private land owners, multiple county road commission, Michigan DNR foresters, biologists, during season and under damage control permits Using foothold, conibears traps, under ice sets I really enjoy trapping, when you think you know it all the animal will always surprise you
