I have attended and received numerous hours of training involving search and seizure. I have received numerous hours of training in field sobriety and recognizing signs and indicators of intoxicated persons. I have interacted with many individuals in both the jail and on patrol that were under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. I am the current Emergency Manager for Emery County. I am the Conductive Energy Weapon instructor for our department. I have conducted hundreds of traffic stops and interacted with the public in many diverse situations. I have been involved with numerous criminal cases including dead bodies and search and rescue operations. I have had the opportunity to work with people from all around the world. As a hunting guide I carried out the function as a guide trainer, dog trainer and tour guide. I raised hundreds of thousands of game birds from eggs to adult. I also was the heavy equipment operator and carpenter for the projects at the ranch. I learned and understood what it took to become a farmer and a rancher. With the love I have for biology I have been fortunate to teach in school and scouts for many years primarily in the field of Entomology. I've taught many different merit badges over the last 30 years including Nature, Environmental Science, Insect Study, search and rescue, First Aid, and many more. I was a scout master for the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years and was also awarded the Eagle Scout Award at the age of 16.
