Co-Owner/Administrator

JK Home Services
11.2021 - 08.2022

JK Home Services was a home maintenance business that my late partner and I built from the ground up. We began as a window washing and gutter cleaning company, handling the labor between the two of us, while in our downtime we worked to build and establish a foundation for future growth. We very quickly made our way into home and property maintenance as the business became successful, adding lawn and landscaping services, handy-man work, and general appliance maintenance. In a few short months, we became one of the go-to maintenance companies for Edge Property Management here in Portland. Just after our partnership with Edge was finalized, we were ready to begin onboarding employees, but our dream was cut short when my partner suddenly and sadly passed away in a tragic accident on the Columbia river in July of 2022. From there, I chose to dissolve the business so that our funds could be allocated to pay his funerary costs and provide a nest egg for his family in the form of college funds for his 3 children.

  • Maintained compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements through diligent oversight of business practices.
  • Implemented innovative marketing campaigns to expand customer base and increase brand awareness.
  • Networked with other businesses and customers to increase sales opportunities and contacts.
  • Interacted well with customers to build connections and nurture relationships.
  • Implemented business strategies, increasing revenue, and effectively targeting new markets.
  • Reduced overhead costs through careful budget management and resource allocation.
  • Negotiated price and service with customers and vendors to decrease expenses and increase profit.
