Summary

I first started working as a Seafood Associate at Restaurant Depot with little experience or knowledge of sales or seafood product and quickly rose to being Assistant Seafood Manager, knowledgeable on all of the product I was selling and promoting. Assisting my department to making 2.4 million dollars in sales for 2022, all in a job I started off having no experience at, in a year. I then grew to be a fundamental part of operations in the cooler for the next few years when I had no knowledge at the start.

Work History

Freezer Manager

Restaurant Depot
Largo
02.2025 - 10.2025

Being Assistant Cooler Manager gave me a lot more manager experience to where I was able to move up and run a department of my own. The Freezer

Overview:

I would arrive two hours before opening and complete cycle counts of categorized items for accurate inventory numbers, using both pen and paper to record and using Zebra LRT scanners to record the numbers. After the count is complete and accurate I would start to pull customer orders and label them on who it's for, and also pack out pallets worth of products in the window and handstack for overstock using the forklift all day long.

Responsibilities:

  • Sign out/in the freezer forklift, recording the hours used, and going through a checklist to ensure the forklift is working properly. And if not, write down the issue and report it for service.
  • Walk the department and scan items that are low on stock in the window, and throughout the day complete the list by packing them out. While also checking the doors to ensure they can all close and no damage and report if any are.
  • Take phone calls from customers with questions about product, create customer orders, and assist customers getting bulk product or finding product.
  • Everyday a delivery of product would arrive, I would check it's quality and expiration before putting the pallets up into the racks. Once a week a delivery of french fries would come, the pallets are a lot taller than others, so certain spots have to be left empty in order to pick all the pallets up.
  • Temperature issues was very common in the freezer, whether it was AC units not working or doors not sealing shut. It was my job to find the issues and report them immediately to prevent the freezer from warming up and the floor getting wet.

Assistant Cooler Manager

Restaurant Depot
Largo
04.2023 - 02.2025

After gaining experience with the company working in the Seafood Department, I was promoted to Assistant Cooler/Deli Manager. Where I oversaw five different departments, ensuring product is fresh and fully packed out on the shelves. I also acquired a Crown standup forklift certification in this position.

Overview:

My main work area was the deli where I would stock large amounts of different kinds of cheese, boxes of eggs and different dairy products. I would do my daily audits, paperwork, and price changes then begin working the Deli, helping the other departments, checking on employees and sending them on breaks/lunches.

Responsibilities:

  • Twice a week I would complete a fresh walk in the Deli department ensuring product is not expired or close to expiration. While walking the department I also would ensure the department is up to code (Clean mop bucket, floors are swept and dry, pallets are wrapped with a block tag and placed fully in the shelfs above)
  • Some days I would be the only forklift driver in the cooler so I would be in charge of taking care of deliveries. Breaking down, plastic wrap, block tag and run the pallets. And also drop pallets for the other departments for whatever they need to work on.
  • Ensure the cooler is clean by sweeping and running floor machines daily or during spills or rushes. And sign the MSS log for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning.
  • Check the temperature of the cooler to make sure it is at 36 degrees and sign the temperature log every 3 hours.

Assistant Seafood Manager

Restaurant Depot
03.2022 - 04.2023
  • The work environment would be between 36 to -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Each morning I'd re-ice over 100 pounds of fish and throw out about 300 pounds of ice. At times customers would ask for dozens of boxes each weighing 11-40 pounds from the freezer, it's very important to move quickly to help customers and attend to the department.
  • Handled the daily deliveries to the department regarding all the paperwork for both the truck driver and for corporate. Each box that's delivered has a different weight so each one would have to be wrote down individually and compared to what the Bill of Lading says and change out the weights so the store pays for what they received or did not receive.
  • Other than having good quality product, Customer Service and Relations is the most important part in sales. Assist customers shop or find product, take down customer orders or wish lists and call them to give updates on deliveries and what product is available.
  • Print product labels with Julian dates for new product, Do fresh walks each morning requiring using MSExcel to ensure raw product is up to standards as per arrival date, Calculating profits and losses and creating price changes and discounts, Stocking shelves and end caps for overstock, Sign and complete daily logs/calibrations, Organize and take down inventory for both the sales floor and overstock rooms/shelves.
